Hello! Our first blog post and an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves…
We are Sarah and Nick Smith and our busy ‘slightly mad’ lives reside here in a quiet enclave of beautiful English countryside. We ignored the advice to never work with animals and children and decided that with settling down, it was best to do everything alllllllll at the same time……So, welcome to Lurcombe Farm, our beloved home and work place. We’ve spent the last twelve years renovating and restoring this magical farm and working our socks off…so much so the socks are often lost at the end of our wellies…..The farm stretches out over a gorgeous landscape and with a fishing lake, tennis court, orchards and woodland/hillside walks on tap, returning home never loses its magic.

As an artist my studio is based onsite and the landscape and animals never fail to inspire my creative work. Often in wellies, out in the fields, paintbrush in hand, the farm is a constant source of inspiration…but there’s always something to do…and a never ending to-do list. Taking on the farm restoration projects, alongside the growth of our cafe/restaurant (Home Farm Cafe) our brood extends to a herd of red ruby Devon cattle, Dartmoor white faced sheep, chickens, dogs and visiting deer. Looking ahead, we can’t wait to show you around and introduce to the menagerie…..we’ll be keeping in touch with regular blog updates, so keep an eye and we’ll chat soon……Love from Dartmoor, Sarah x
